Pasta Evangelists have joined forces with award-winning Neapolitan pizza masters, Pizza Pilgrims, for the ultimate mash-up of Italian cuisine: when Pizza met Pasta. A menu swap of dreams starring three 'Pizza Pilgrims' specials inspired by signature pizza toppers from the cult pizzeria. Buon appetito!  

“Have you tried their ‘nduja?” You don’t need to travel far to find a pizza fan raving about the Pizza Pilgrims’ ‘nduja pizza. Taking inspiration from this much-loved Pizza Pilgrims classic, our lasagne heroes ‘nduja sourced straight from Calabria. Home to the red-hot Calabrian chilli pepper which gives ‘nduja its unmistakable red hue and fiery kick, Calabria is the spiritual homeland of Italy’s spiciest sausage: locals even hold a yearly ‘Peperoncino Festival’ every October in the coastal town of Diamante. 

Evoking the signature Pizza Pilgrims’  topping, which delights with rustic dollops of spicy ‘nduja atop a traditional margherita base, we mix generous spoonfuls of the fiery Calabrian sausage with tomato ragĂč, bĂ©chamel and fior di latte mozzarella, all layered between fresh pasta sheets. Interestingly, ‘fior di latte’ literally translates as ‘flower of the milk’ and is named as such not only to signal its sweet and delicate flavour, but also to distinguish that it’s made with pure cow's milk as opposed to traditional buffalo mozzarella, originally made in Naples with buffalo milk. We think you’ll find this balance of creaminess & spice a match made in (southern Italian) heaven.

Note: Please consume or freeze our pasta and sauces within 2 days of delivery.

METHOD

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan) and place a baking tray in the middle of the oven.
  2. Take your pasta out of the fridge 10 minutes before cooking.
  3. Remove the card sleeve and the film from the pasta but leave it in its card box.
  4. Place the pasta in its box directly onto the hot baking tray and cook for 20 minutes, until piping hot.
  5. Remove your pasta from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Buon appetito!
